For Pete's Sake Giving Tree

As you may know, this year the Program in Physical Therapy Giving Tree was raising funds for one of our alumni, Peter Mosher who was battling advanced obstructive pulmonary disease and awaiting a double lung transplant through Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Pete lost his battle on Saturday, December 7 at 1:30 p.m. when both of his lungs collapsed. Pete and his wife were both alumni of our program and proud Billikens. During this fight they took up the banner of organ donation. They knew that Pete was one of 120,000 Americans waiting for an incredible gift. The $250.00 raised by the For Pete's Sake Giving Tree will go to Donate Life America.

If you would like to learn more about Pete, Eileen, and their children Adah and Eamon, you can read about their journey at http://peterdmosher.blogspot.com/

The "For Pete's Sake Giving Tree" Ornament Making Has Begun!

PT student Chris Sorgani (Class of 2016) opens the “For Pete’s Sake Giving Tree” ornament making season with a snowboarding snowman.

Please join the entire Program in Physical Therapy in celebrating this joyous season with "The Giving Tree.” As in the past, students, faculty, and staff may purchase the makings for a Christmas/Hanukah ornament to be placed on the tree in the office. Money raised this year will go to support an alumni of our program who is awaiting a double-lung transplant through Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Pete Mosher graduated with his MPT in 2005 and his transitional DPT in 2007. His wife Eileen graduated with her MPT in 2006 and her transitional DPT in 2008. The funds raised will help offset the out of pocket costs that Pete and Eileen will incur following the transplant. If you would like to learn more about their family's journey, go to their "Born for More" blog at http://peterdmosher.blogspot.com/.
